NCMS Sections

Overview

The NCMS is pleased to support several groups within the Society that work together to raise and debate issues, formulate policy, and pursue change to improve patient care and the medical profession.

Medical Students Section

This Section provides a forum for students from the four major medical schools in the State to come together and take an active role in organized medicine from the start of their careers. Get the latest news!

Physician Assistants Section

PAs from across North Carolina are gathering to create positive change in the health care system and their communities. Read about the Section's current goal to reduce the number of adolescent deaths due to suicide.

Resident/Fellow Section

The RF Section represents and advocates for residents, trains young physician leaders, and educates residents about issues concerning national health policies. Participation in the RFS is the best way for residents to ensure themselves an influential voice in medicine. Add your voice to the Section!

Young Physicians Section

Physicians under 40 or those who are within the first five years of their practice are eligible to become part of the YP Section. The Section provides an opportunity for these physicians to get to know their peers, to share knowledge, and to work together for change.

International Medical Graduates Section

The IMG Section is a great source of networking and support for North Carolina physicians schooled in other countries. It has lobbied and achieved significant change in policies affecting their practices and continues to grow in both numbers and strength.
